Tinycards duolingo -new app!

Many of you love playing Duolingo. They now have a new app called Tinycards. It is another fun way to practise your French using Concentration cards online. First you choose your topic (French) then you click on each of the cards shown until you think you know the words, then swipe them away. Other activities follow using this vocabulary. Amusez-vous bien!

Joyeux Carnaval!
Our Carnaval Osler was a success, despite being indoors due to the weather. It has been an unpredictable winter so we had a back up plan to continue with our Carnaval. The Gr.8's organized fun activities for the rest of the students. Even Bonhomme Carnaval showed up!

Ca va vite!

Ca va vite! Time is flying here at school. Students have been busy learning about francophone communities in Canada and around the world! The Intermediates have hooked up online with another school to speak to other students in French. I have found a new website for students to build their listening and oral skills This link and others are listed on the right. Duolingo continues to be a popular site for students. There is a new Chatbots feature you should check out if you are practising on an ios device! Students who are interested in reading French books at home should see me to borrow books. A bientot!

Bienvenue 2016

Brrr! Il fait froid! But snow for skiing is good! Students have been around the world in French class, in search of francophone communities. Grades 7 and 8 have visited Montreal, Paris and countries where French is an official language. Gr.6's have explored Ottawa and are learning about francophone festivals in Ontario. We have also been playing "the spoons" in class -c'est amusant!
